Now it is not necessary to wear a mask while traveling in the plane, the government has given this advice to the passengers

New Delhi: Wearing a face mask during air travel is no longer mandatory, but passengers should not stop using it. The government gave this advice on Wednesday. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said that wearing masks during air travel is no longer mandatory, but passengers should not stop wearing masks amid a decline in the number of coronavirus cases. Until now, it was mandatory to wear a mask or face covering while traveling in flight.
In a letter to the airlines, the ministry said the decision was taken in line with the government’s policy of categorization for covid management response.
“…in-flight announcements may only mention that in view of the risk posed by COVID-19, all passengers should use a mask or a face covering,” the ministry said.
The Ministry also said that there is no longer any need to announce any specific reference regarding penalty/penalty action as part of in-flight announcements.
