Prashant Kishor’s claim: CM Nitish Kumar in touch with BJP, can do alliance anytime

New Delhi : Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Wednesday claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in touch with the Bharatiya Janata Party and may reunite with the party if the situation demands. Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (U) rejected his remarks, terming them misleading and saying it was aimed at spreading chaos.
Prashant Kishor is currently on a pilgrimage to Bihar and his journey is being seen as the first step towards his entry into active politics. He told PTI that Kumar has opened the way for talks with the BJP through JD(U) MP and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh. A query sent to Harivansh for his reply in this regard did not receive any response. But his party rejected the claim and insisted that Nitish Kumar would never join hands with the BJP again.
Prashant Kishor, “Those who are thinking that Nitish Kumar is trying his best to build a national alliance against the BJP, will be surprised to know that he has opened the way with the BJP. He He is in touch with the BJP through his party’s Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivanshji.
He said that Harivansh has not been asked to resign from his post because of this, while the JD(U) has parted ways with the BJP. “People should keep in mind that whenever such a situation arises, they can go back to the BJP and work with it,” he said.
JDU pulled Kishore, party spokesperson KC Tyagi said that Nitish Kumar has publicly declared that he will never join hands with BJP again in his life.
We refute their claim, Tyagi said. Nitish Kumar has been active in politics for over 50 years while Prashant Kishore has been for six months. Kishore has made such misleading remarks to spread confusion.
Kishor started his padyatra on October 2 from the Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran’s Bheetiharwa. He will travel 3,500 km in the next 12-15 months to garner people’s support for ‘change’ in the system.
